Scanline City has just released their next round of metal + plexi cases for arcade boards. They’d previously released cases for Mortal Kombat 1 – 4 and are now offering cases for The Simpsons, G.I. Joe, Sunset Riders and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Please check out the livestream below if you’d like more info on these cases and to see detailed video of them.

While these cases aren’t cheap, this is definitely a “you get what you pay for” scenario; These cases are specifically for someone who wants both the protection of a metal case, with the aesthetics of something you’d be proud to display. If you’re on a budget, you can just store your PCB’s in anti-static padded mailers and place them on cardboard when in use.
I personally stand these vertically when storing them, both because they look cool that way and because vertical storage helps reduce the inevitable warping of the PCB. When in use, I place them whatever seems the best for the supergun or arcade machine I’m connecting it to – Sometimes using the rubber feet on the bottom lines up perfectly for horizontal use and other times standing it on its side seems like the better fit. I found them really sturdy when stood on their sides, but Scanline City is also working on a vertical stand brace and “wall mounting” brackets that would work for display, or even for mounting inside a wooden arcade cabinet.
Overall if you’re an arcade enthusiast, these are worth checking out on their website and in the livestream below.
