Genesis 3D Adapter

Integrate the Sega Master System 3D glasses adapter into a Sega Genesis Model 1

This page discusses the possibility of integrating the Sega Master System 3D glasses adapter into a Sega Genesis Model 1 and using the Genesis’s front headphone jack as the 3D glasses output jack.

This is one project I’ve always wanted to do, but never completed.  Also, I’ll say this right from the start:  There’s not much point to it, other than I think it would be really cool.  That’s enough of a reason for me to proceed and hopefully it’s enough for you as well.

Unfortunately, I’ve never gotten it to work successfully.  In hindsight, one of my tries may have worked perfectly, with the exception of a missing capacitor.  I’m eager to try again, but only after both the Genesis and 3D adapter pinouts have been confirmed.

Update:  It looks like someone may have found a solution!:  http://www.smspower.org/forums/14635-SegaCardFor3DGlassesCircuit#103365

If you’re done, please head back to the main Genesis page.  If you’d like info on mods for other systems, head to the Getting RGB From Each System page or check out the main page for more retro-awesomeness.
