The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) has just released its standard guidelines for the Display Port 2.0. The new standards state that new Display Port 2.0 will not only be able to accommodate 8k but actually be able to support resolutions beyond 8k. The notable benefits also extent to the areas of Augmented and Virtual Reality that will be able to support higher resolutions. This is not limited to the Display Port 2.0. As these new standards also help with video and information transmission via USB Type C connections.
Products utilizing this new standard are expected to be launched and supported next year in 2020. Where the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan are anticipated to be the first major showcase of 8k technologies.
