Midwest Embedded has begun sending out notifications to newsletter subscribers that their GBC backlights are now up for pre-order. They sold out of their initial inventory before many people could get an order in. These pre-orders are expected to ship in July.
There are currently quite a few options for backlit GBC replacement screens, but the Midwest Embedded solution’s “transreflective” properties make it stand out in that the screen can still be seen with the backlight turned off.
