MiSTer FPGA News – DE10 Nano Clones, Turtles in Time & More

Taki Udon DE10 Nano Alternative

Taki Udon told us that the retail packaging samples for the DE10 Nano alternative have arrived for verification. The board and accessories are also at the SMT stage.

Taki also mentioned that they will have extra RAM modules available for those who just need RAM and not the board.

It also turns out that adding a power supply for all regions will delay the board (by around 5 days), so instead causing a delay, a WiFi/Bluetooth dongle will take the power supplies place.

It was also said that SMT/Testing will be done in a few days and everything should be ready for shipment in around 10 days from Monday, Aug 5th.

TapTo

Tim Wilse posted some new TapTo label design that you can write on and purchase from Tim himself or wizzo. They are matte laminated for maximum durability, able to be written in with markers and pen and are available in multiple colors.

Wizzo is also working on implementing the alternate Sinden lightgun cores. At the moment, to use the Sinden Lightgun, some dedicated cores were created that display the needed border.

Turtles in Time

Jotego posted some development info on X regarding the TMNT: Turtles in Time. The game was shown booting and playing the some of the Intro animation.

Retro Frog Case

RetroFrog is doing an interest check on a new MiSTerFPGA case. It has a design the reminds me of a PC Engine.

It includes a 4 port USB hub, SD card extender and uses USBC power. It will only support HDMI so to get analog video you would have to use Direct Video. Pricing is said to be around $100 to $120. Respond to the post of this case is something that you would like to see developed.

Ranny Snice Wallpapers

Ranny Snice showed off some new wallpapers for the MiSTer FPGA. There were themed after the following games:

Landstalker
Bareknuckle III
and Golden Axe

To obtain these wallpapers, just enable Ranny’s wallpapers in the update all script settings.

Turbografx 16 Sprite Bug Fix

David Shadoff found a bug in the MiSTer TG16 core affecting FIghting Run, where some of the sprites were showing up as wrong colors. A pull request was submitted, so we will have to wait until that is accepted for the fix to appear in the core.
