Thanks to feedback from other people who printed the original release, changes have been rolled out, mainly by increasing the perimeter. This should help with other slicers and printers where “thin wall detection” can not be enabled or wouldn’t act as intended. I never noticed this as an issue because my slicing program (slic3r for Prusa Edition — now referred to PrusaSlicer) can automatically detect and adjust for thin walls.
Version 1 of the design and the accompanying GCODE have been removed. Please use v2 from now on. Further, anyone who purchases directly from me will only get version 2.
Prusa mk3 was used for printing, PrusaSlicer was used to slice the model into GCODE with the following settings:
- Filament: PLA (used Amz3d PLA for v2)
- Layer Height: 0.20mm first layer / 0.15mm remainder
- Infill: 15%
- Infill Design: Gyroid
- Top Fill Pattern: Rectilinear
- Supports: Not Needed
- Hardened Steel Nozzle Temp: 225 first layer / 220 remainder
- Bed Temperature: 65 throughout
My print time was 3 hours 50 minutes.
As with the original design, I am releasing the STL for free for anyone to print here. Due to the numerous variances with 3d printers, even in the same model family, I am not providing the GCODE. If you do not have a printer and would like one, I am offering them for sale here (shipping to USA and Canada).
