Dan from Video Games New York was nice enough to let me borrow a few Game Boy Advance consoles, so I can compare the new IPS screen to the original AGS-101 backlit screen.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a marco lens, so the footage isn’t nearly as good as I hoped it would be – There’s reflections on the screen, even in my light box and I couldn’t get a strait-on shot without glare. Hopefully it’s still good enough for people to get an impression of it, but my overall opinion is this: They look awesome, but different than the AGS-101.
Also, a giant thank you to My Life In Gaming for sending over some GBA SP footage, as I don’t have any here to test with!
