New ForeverPak 64 Revision

4 Layer Tech has just posted a full update to both the RVL-PMS-Lite and ForeverPak 64. The RVL-PMS-Lite should be back in stock by the end of the year with the same features and a few minor changes.  Also, all four colors of their ForeverPak 64 memory “pak” is back in stock and ready to purchase!  A summary of the changes can be found below the links, or you can read the full update directly from the team:

The most notable change to the ForeverPak is the switch from MRAM to FRAM.  This is (as expected) due to availability and price due to the part shortage.  In 4 Layer Tech’s testing, they found no performance difference between the two models and end users won’t be able to tell the difference. The bottom line is either solution allows for saves without the use of a battery.  Also, due to the cost of everything going up, prices have to be raised $5, however existing orders will be fulfilled with the original price.  I think that’s a reasonable change and I’m glad 4 Layer Tech put the effort in to reduce costs as much as possible.
