Tanglewood creator Matt Philips was just featured in a video by computerphile! He walks up through what it takes to start with nothing and get to “hello world” on an original Sega Genesis / Sega Megadrive.
While this video is both informative and entertaining, it’s also a direct look into all the effort that went into making classic video games. While modern games all have their own set of challenges, simply getting a “hello world” is often much less work than this.
