Updated:  http://retrorgb.com/krikzz-everdrive-n8-v2-0-rc3-released.html

Krikzz has just announced that the Everdrive N8’s latest firmware is out of beta and now at Release Candidate 1!  This firmware includes a ton of updates and bugfixes…so much that all owners of the NES and Famicom versions should update right away:  http://krikzz.com/pub/support/var/rc/N8/nesos-v20-rc1.zip

Some of the new additions include:

  1. Save states supported by all mappers
  2. New MMC5 mapper was fully rewrited and now it can play all MMC5 games
  3. New FDS audio core
  4. Audio core for Sunsof5 mapper by Necronomfive
  5. Audio core for VRC7 mapper by Necronomfive
  6. Specific games database update; Works with more games which require specific settings
  7. Bug fixes
  8. FDS autoswap blocking function; Hold select to prevent FDS disk swap.  This mostly to test FDS sound in the Zelda intro.
  9. Audio balance option for mappers with expansion audio
  10. New mapper support added for: 27, 35, 37, 44, 45, 49, 50, 51, 52, 56, 60, 103, 105, 106, 108, 117, 132, 136, 142, 143, 144, 145, 149, 156, 159, 165, 171, 172, 173, 175, 176, 177, 183, 186, 187, 197, 198, 199, 213, 214, 216, 221, 222, 228, 229, 238, 244, 248, 249, 250, 252

It’s an impressive update and one that some manufacturers would have used to justify a new and more hardware revision.  I think it’s incredible that Krikzz sill heavily supports hardware until it can’t support any more features.
