Pre-orders for Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore will be opening this Friday, February 2nd. It’s a “spiritual successor” to the infamous CDi Zelda games, created by Seth Fulkerson, who completely remastered both of the notorious Philips CDi Zelda games for PC. You can purchase Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series versions for $35. Special Editions of each will be available for $90 and include a pink CDi “remote”, that’s USB-based and compatible with PC and the Nintendo Switch. More info and an interview with the creator below the links.
All will be available here: https://limitedrungames.com/collections/arzette-the-jewel-of-faramore
Look, I think most people reading RetroRGB is already interested in the game. The trailer looked fun, the game looks really enjoyable and it seems like something that any game fan could enjoy – Retro gamers, modern gamers, whatever. I’ve always said a good game is like a good song: It doesn’t need to be put into a category, it’s just good.
…but holy crap, that CDi controller!?!? Seth never mentioned that in the interview and I don’t blame him – What a fun and silly surprise! LRG is even selling a grey version separately as well for $35. That thing is so awesome and I love that LRG took the risk to make it. I think I’ll buy one just to use as a silly MiSTer remote or something. Either way, both the game and controller are a must-buy for me!
