Scart Sense Injector

Jan from Consoles4You is now selling a device aimed to help PAL CRT users called the SCART Sense Injector.  This device uses a USB PD (12v) input to “inject” voltage onto the proper SCART pin, telling your CRT it’s in RGB and 4:3 mode.  The price is about $35 plus shipping and they’re in-stock now:

While it’s a niche item, there’s plenty of devices in the homebrew retro scene like the HD15-2-SCART that only send RGBs and audio through the SCART head, not voltage.  When used with most SCART switches, scalers and RGB monitors, this isn’t an issue…however PAL CRT users require this voltage, otherwise you might not get a signal at all.

As for the PSU, normally I’d exercise lots of caution – especially if you’re looking for a cheap PSU.  While I’d still recommend making sure the PSU has proper (and not cloned) safety ratings, you do not need to worry about amperage with something like this.  Pick up any name brand USB PD supply that supports 12v (Jan mentioned UGreen) and you should be fine.
