I gotta admit, I’m a bit disappointed. The last time they did this, I asked “what would they come up with next?”. I didn’t expect them to just repeat the same thing. I guess “stick with what you know” for FOMO marketing? The did change one thing though: The last time they did this, Analogue claimed the Pockets would ship the following week. While people did get a tracking number on time, the units didn’t actually ship until the week after. Now, in my strong opinion, this is totally fine…but I understand the frustration: If they didn’t hit their target ship date, when would they ship? Weeks? Months? But of course, once they actually shipped within a reasonable time, people calmed down. So, good on Analogue for setting people’s expectations straight this time.
Also, I still think $250 is a really fair price for the Pocket, as you get a lot for your money. I just hope you don’t live in a region where shipping is 1/3 the price of the handheld…
