8BitDo have recently launched a “Retro Receiver” dongle for the PlayStation 1 & 2, as well as Windows PC’s (via the USB connection). It’s bluetooth-based and compatible with a long list of controllers. While it seems to have sold out pretty quickly, check out the Amazon link and their main website for when they’re back in stock:

[Alex’s Addendum] Eagle eyed readers may have noticed one significant controller missing from the compatibility list here: the Dual Shock 3. Beyond a closer resemblance to the Dual Shock and Dual Shock 2, something that makes the Dual Shock 3 a good replacement for those pads is that it is the last controller Sony made with pressure sensitive face buttons. Love or hate them, there were a handful of notable games for the Playstation 2 that put them to use and it appears that there won’t be a way to experience that feature with this adapter. While I don’t have first hand experience with the Brook Wingman, their previous Playstation adapter did apparently support the DS3’s pressure sensitive face buttons, so alternatives are available if that’s something you really can’t live without.
UPDATED 2023-08-18: When this post first went live, I called attention to a marketing mistake. 8bitdo has since fixed it and I’ve updated the post to reflect that. It’s my (Bob’s) strong personal opinion that companies should be recognized for their actions, not mistakes; I’m choosing to remember this as a time 8bitdo listened to their customers, not a time they made a marketing error. I’ve covered many of their products before and give extremely high praise to quite a few. Its nice to see the company’s products and customer interaction holding up to that praise. Thank you 8bitdo.
