The musician Remute has just opened orders on his latest album and once again it’s being released on a video game console Compact Disc Interactive Multimedia System…the Philips CDi! Much like his previous releases on many other game consoles, this one is designed to utilize the console to generate music. And since the console already plays music from a CD, Remute worked with graphic artist Alien^PDX to create a film that uses the CDi’s Digital Video Cartridge to create a unique experience! First, it should be noted that this disc will run on all models of the CDi that have the Digital Video Cartridge, as well as on all VCD-compatible DVD-players and also on a PC via X-VCD. So even people who haven’t been initiated into CDisis can still experience it.
Also, each edition will include the disc, as well as a digital version of the album and ship in early October. The basic edition is about $30, but there’s also versions with an acrylic digital video frame and a signed aluminum print – Check out the link above for price and more details.
