CRT’s + Magnetically Shielded Speakers

I put together a video, in order to warn people against putting non-shielded speakers (or magnets! ;p) next to CRT displays.  I also show speakers that are safe to use ranging from cheap, to what I’d consider “high end”…for me at least.  Unfortunately, it’s really hard to find brand new speakers that are still shielded, so MAKE SURE TO TEST YOURSELF, regardless of what manufacturer specs or the sale page says!  I’ve bought (and returned) three pairs of speakers listed as shielded that were not!  Here’s links to speakers I personally tested – affiliate links where available:

Phoenix on Discord used to work for Bose and has provided us with a list of which speakers are shielded or not.  As ALWAYS, I recommend double checking after purchasing, but if you’d like to take a risk on a used set, these might save you a bit of money over the Kanto, Yamaha, or Ascend Acoustics:
